I test drove the Mitshibhi Outlander for a week free of charge courtesy of DriveShop. All opinions expressed here are my own.

You know the moment when you sit into a car for the first time and think… “I wonder what magic is about to happen here?”.

That was me with the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander.

Now if you didn’t know, I am in the market for a car. I’ve had my little putt-putt vehicle for almost 10 years and I know it’s seen better days. When the opportunity to test drive the tech centered 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander arose, I couldn’t pass it up!

One of the features I loved about this car was the rear backup camera. Photo Jul 30, 6 01 29 PM

I don’t have one currently but let me tell you how HARD it is to go back to driving without one…not easy. I was able to navigate my way through the city of Baltimore with ease. I also love the Hill Start Assist (HSA). A powerful feature which holds the brakes for 2 seconds after the driver releases the brake pedal — so you don’t roll back on the driver behind you.

The model I drove was not equipped with a navigation system but the 7-inch LCD touchscreen did not disappoint. The in-car speaker system connected flawlessly to my iPhone and read back driving directions crystal clear.Photo Jul 27, 7 42 11 AM

Let’s talk about space! This crossover is equipped with 3rd-row seating with PLENTY of leg room for tight situations. The weekend that I had the vehicle, I attended a Pride festival in my city where I had to quickly grab some friends of mine and drop them off to their car…easy feat. 7 PEOPLE! Although, we are kicking ourselves for not recreating the 7/11 scene. Next Time!

Here’re some highlights for my fact checkers out there about the vehicle:

  • Three trim levels: ES, SE, and GT starting at $22,995
  • 26 MPG w/ECO Mode
  • Dual Climate Control
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Fast Key Passive Entry and Push to Start
  • Power Windows, Mirrors and Locks standard on all models
  • Anti-Lock Braking System
  • Break Assist – break sensors will add extra pressure for emergency stops
  • Automatic Power Liftgate
  • USB Port
  • Third-row cup holder and storage space

During July, I was able to do a bit of vlogging and the car makes a special appearance at the end of the video. Check it out!
