Flava in Ya Ear: Best Geeky Podcasts
Black Girl Nerds – A long time listen of mine, I love the BGN network and the podcast was one of my favorite introduction to Black Girl Nerds. My favorite episode has to be the Doctor Who episode…because, Rose Tyler..ha! Jamie Broadnax, founder and creator of Black Girl Nerds, has her hands full with the weekly podcast, a successful site with fresh content delivered daily on the musings of the community and being one of my favorite blerds around. Check them out when they return as part of the TWiB.FM family later this month. TWiB #weNERDhard: I stumbled upon the TWiB network almost a year ago and I completely fell in love. The #weNERDhard programming is rich, informative and add a bit of humor to nerdy topics. Recently, I went back into the archives and listened to as much as I could…binge-listening? Is that a thing? Oh well. I’m so excited that they are back and set a regular schedule. They also started a new series called #RememberThatBuffy, a live tweet breakdown of cult favorite, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. You can catch them at on Tuesdays at 8pm EST/5pm PST. (I’m waiting for TWiB in the Morning to come back, y’all hear me?) Being digital compadres with Shareef Jackson, I knew it was only a matter of time before I stumbled on this gem, Operation Cubicle, a podcast he co-hosts with JP Fairfield. I love their strategy of a weekly dissection of a topic from the corporate and geeky perspective. The old school hip-hop breaks in the hour-long show also make for many entertaining writing and driving sessions. You can listen to them every Tuesday when the episode hits LIVE!
The Read (Kid Fury and Crissle dominate my headphones every Friday morning on my way to work. I purposely save the Thursday airing of the show for my drive to or from work. Are there any podcasts that you love that I may have missed? Let me know in the comments below!
