Taking a spiritual approach to life is sometimes a little different from person to person. I’d like to think I am a spiritual person while crafting affirmations and listening to the latest new age self-help guru (Say hello to Tony Robbins). Make no mistake: My foundation is in the church. The feeling of being in a room with other people just absorbing whomever you deem your higher power is indescribable. When my spiritual and foundations blend in the real world, I can only stop and give thanks.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the 2016 Blogging While Brown conference in Washington DC as an ATT Influencer and let me just say, it was truly a blend of my spiritual side and foundational upbringing.

The day was full of awesome sessions from Ann Daramola talking about site security, Naya Scarbrough schooling you on why your UX could be so much better on mobile, and Jason Caston leading the AT&T’s Inspired Mobility Session: Enabling good. Activating everywhere.

Jason Caston is the spokesperson of the AT&T Inspired Mobility brand and literally dropped gems of nostalgia during the session. We talked about communication in the church, social media no-nos (please don’t record someone in the spirit) and ways the congregation can help their church home reach millions around the world.

L. Michelle Smith Dir. of PR, AT&T kept the spirit of transparency going with the closing session dropping gems and making sure we understood what the future of digital in the inspirational space will look like.

So what is this Inspired Mobility campaign? AT&T Inspired Mobility is a conversation about how people are using mobile technology to connect with their faith or inspiration.

I think they are on to something.

If you attend any faith-based or inspirational services, how often are you reaching for your phone to tweet something out, look up a passage or send that scripture to a friend who may live states away? Many people look at technology as a hindrance or block keeping people apart – that can’t be further from the truth. Just like everyone has a different love language, we all have different ways that we communicate through technology.

I’m so thankful for the opportunity to attend Blogging While Brown on behalf of AT&T as an #ATTInfluencer this year. See you next year!
